As this particularly tough year draws to a close, I hope everyone is taking good care of themselves and their near & dear ones. It has indeed been a testing time with the COVID pandemic affecting all spheres of our lives .The Dental Council is aware of the difficulties faced by the faculty & the students and we have been on the forefront trying to address the present needs of the new normal.
Quality education leading to a better quality of life has been our motto. In these testing times, the need of the hour is to keep ourselves abreast with the ever changing needs of our profession and in this regard we have encouraged the dental colleges to come up with newer teaching methodologies, improve inter personal skills among students, incorporate outcome based education, include best practices with a strong sense of ethics and enhance quality research among the graduates & postgraduates.
The council is aware of the many challenges the dentists are facing today & we are in the process of updating the curriculum and formulating regulations according to the new national education policy introduced by our Government. Hybrid mode of education is the new buzz word and incorporating online & offline methodology of teaching is the way forward and it is heartening to note that our faculty has embraced these newer tools of teaching wholeheartedly. We believe, these incremental steps shall help in the betterment of our profession and cater to the needs of the faculty and the students from all across the country. The amalgamation of science with a strong sense of practice values will stand us in good stead. Together we can and together we shall.
